About this Course

2 DAYS Saturday 1pm-4pm and Sunday 10am-4pm Discover the magic, beauty and play of monotypes – an art form right at the intersection of painting and printmaking! The monotype is a one-of-a-kind work, that is made by transferring from the original surface on which you painted (acrylic sheet / plexiglass), onto paper. You will learn how you can create this way from home – no printing press necessary! The beauty of working this way is how experimental you can be in the process – you can add, take away, and repeat – and there’s a surrender in the final reveal that is always exciting, and we can delight in together. This a process-based class that will teach you the basics+ of a new medium while touching on line, tone, colour and space. We’ll delve into a couple ways of working with watercolour in monotype, including a very unusual household item that makes magic with the medium! www.monikarosen.com CANCELLATION POLICY If a participant chooses to cancel their confirmed registration or cannot or does not attend the workshop the following refunds will apply: 1. The registered participant may invite another person to substitute their place in the workshop at any time for no charge. 2. If notice is received 7 days before the scheduled workshop date a 50% refund will be offered. 3. If notice is received less than 7 days before the scheduled workshop date no refund will be offered. 4. Please note, these classes are for adults and mature teens. *In the unlikely event that the workshop is cancelled by the studio all confirmed participants will be notified and receive a full refund.
